UWA and me
Upon graduation in 2007 I moved to Brisbane to work at the Supreme Court of Queensland, before heading overseas to Oxford and then London. I spent six years working as an inhouse lawyer in oil and gas before moving to Sydney to take up the role as Group Counsel for AGL’s New Energy division. A move to Hong Kong in 2016 inspired me to launch a media site for the modern career woman called IrisLillian.com. I currently consult at Uber, supporting its Asia Pacific business and continue to manage the website.
My time at UWA provided me with excellent academic grounding and a friendship network which continues today.
My passion
Whether it is advising on a business deal or bringing people together and facilitating a dialogue, I get a kick out of helping others.
Legal practice needs to evolve
Establishing a media site alongside my legal career has enabled me to develop a unique skill set. Legal practice needs to evolve to keep up with the changing pace of information technology and the growth of Big Data – I hope to be a part of this evolution.
Words of wisdom
Get involved in extra-curricular activities like a sports team or a club. It’s a fantastic way to meet new people and create structure around your study schedule.
