UWA and me
After UWA I articled at John Toohey Chambers before moving to London, Seychelles and back to Perth. I am currently living and working in Hong Kong. Being at UWA has opened up the world to me by laying the foundations for an international legal career.
Dabbling in journalism
Writing. I’ve always dabbled in journalism and for a while I thought it could be my career path. Now I simply enjoy writing as a hobby and recently I was a regular columnist for a national magazine in the Seychelles, “Potpourri”. I’ve had people stop me in the street to say they enjoy reading my column and that’s made me feel like I make a difference to somebody!
What does your future look like?
Being part of a truly international company with a footprint in 67 countries. This presents me with so many opportunities for a lateral or upwards move.
Words of wisdom
Join student bodies, extra-curricular groups and committees to get a wider industry perspective and differentiate yourself from the rest of your graduating class. Summer internships are also brilliant for getting a foot in the door at the firms you want to work at once you graduate.
